At Bright Stars we value our staff very highly and all our staff have a wide range of experience and qualifications in childcare. Their primary role is to care for your child. All staff have a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check before joining our team.
Manager: Clair
Clair completed her BA Honours in Professional Studies in Early Childhood Studies in 1999; prior to this she completed a HND in Professional Studies in Early Childhood Studies. Clair has a Level 3 in Management. Clair has been working in a nursery environment for over 12 years and has 10 years management experience. Clair has built up a strong team.
Deputy Manager: Kerry
Kerry holds a Diploma in Childcare and Education and a Level 3 in Management. Kerry assists Clair with elements of the management role. Kerry supports all rooms when needed in the staff to child ratio. Kerry has worked in a nursery environment for 9 years. Kerry has return to work part time after being on maternity leave.
Team Leader: Leonora
Leonora joined Bright Stars in September 2010 and works full time as our Team Leader in the baby room. Leonora holds an NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and has 6 years previous experience working in a nursery environment. Leonora has achieved her Level 2 Team Leader qualification and is currently studying for her level 3 in management.

Deputy Manager: Kirsty
Kirsty started with us in September 2008, she has a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years and leads our toddler room. Kirsty has varied experiences working with children in different situations and uses this to excel in the work she does with the children in the setting. Kirsty also holds a Level 2 Team Leader qualification.
Team Leader: Emma
Emma is an original member of staff from Primary Steps. Emma first worked full time in the Pre-School Room before moving to our Toddler Room. Emma has a NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education. Emma likes to get the children up and motivated and is very hands on. Emma also holds a Level 2 Team Leader qualification.
Nursery Practitioner: Kerry
Kerry joined Bright Stars in April 2008 and works part time. Kerry has a CACHE Level 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education; she has lots of experience working with all age ranges and has been working in nurseries since 2004. Kerry’s experience as a mother assists her in her role being a loving, comforting member of staff.

Nursery Practitioner: Shona
Shona joined Bright Stars in January 2009 and works part time in the baby room. Shona holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education. Shona enjoys being active with the children and offering lots of fun experiences.
Nursery Practitioner: Stephanie
Stephanie holds a BTEC National Diploma in Childcare, Learning and Development. Stephanie became a member of staff in October 2009 and and works full time in our toddler room.
Room Leader: Lesley
Lesley started at Bright Stars in November 2011. She has a Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualification which she achieved in 2007. Lesley works in our pre-school room and has previous experience working in a nursery with babies and pre-school children.
Nursery Assistant: Sophie
Sophie became part of our team in April 2009 and is based in our pre-school room. Sophie has been working with children for 3 years and excels working with this age range. Sophie holds a Level 2 qualification in Childcare and Education and has started her NVQ Level 3.
Nursery Practitioner: Gemma
Gemma began at Bright Stars in November 2008 and has a NNEB in Nursery Nursing. Gemma has a lot of experience working in childcare and brings a wealth of knowledge to the toddler room in which she works. Gemma has 8 years experience in a nursery. Gemma’s experience as a mum help’s support her role.
Nursery Practitioner: Leonie
Leonie started at Bright Stars in May 2010. Leonie has a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma. Leonie works part time in our baby room and her experience as a mum helps support her role.
Nursery Practitioner: Ghosia
Ghosia holds a Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare. When Ghosia joined Bright Stars she worked in various rooms where needed. Ghosia now works in our Pre-School Room.
Nursery Assistant: Kim
Kim holds a Level 2 childcare qualification and can be found in the baby room where she works full time. Kim has been with us since July 2009 and has gained knowledge and confidence while with us. Kim is currently studying for her Level 3 childcare qualification.
Nursery Assistant: Lisa
Lisa holds a Level 2 childcare qualification and is currently studying for her Level 3. Lisa works full time in the baby room. Lisa enjoys busy surroundings and thrives when there is a lot to do. Lisa has worked at Bright Stars since September 2009
Nursery Assistant: Clare
Clare has worked at Bright Stars since October 2008. She holds a CACHE Level 2 in Playwork. Clare works in our toddler room.
Nursery Assistant: Famida
Famida started working at Bright Stars in May 2010. Famida covers staff lunches, holidays and staff training.
Nursery Assistant: Nadiya
Nadiya holds a Level 2 childcare qualification. Nadiya works part time in various rooms covering for staff lunches, holidays and training. Nadiya is currently working towards her Level 3 childcare qualification.
Nursery Practitioner: Michelle
Michelle is currently working in our baby room ‘Ladybirds’. Michelle gained her level 3 in Early Years Care and Education in September 2004 and then went on in 2010 to complete her NVQ level 4 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. Michelle has over 10 years experience working in Nurseries and pre-schools. Michelle has completed first Aid training, SENCO training, A leadership and Management course and Child protection Training.
Nursery Practitioner: Chelsea Calver
Chelsea joined The Stars team in January 2012. Chelsea has a ‘National Diploma Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. Chelsea has experience working with children in a childcare environment and has recently come back from working with children abroad. Chelsea currently holds a first aid certificate along with Asthma and Epi pen training.
Cook: Sahiqa
Our cook prepares fresh nutritious meals on a daily basis. She creates alternative dishes to meet every child's individual needs. Sahiqa joined Bright Stars in February 2011.
